About Us

The Kent Dragon Boat Association is based in Kent, Washington. Established in 2000, the KDBA promotes sportsmanship, fitness, fun and camaraderie in a competitive and supportive environment.

We are a dedicated group of women and men of all ages and all walks of life united by our commitment to each other and our shared love of the sport of dragon boating.

Our main season runs from March to October, but we do also enjoy our Winter Warriors preseason practice from January to March. We practice three days a week during the regular season and compete in regattas in Washington, Oregon, California, and British Columbia.

The Kent Dragon Boat Association is currently comprised of 2 teams:
Ladies of the Lake (Women only)
Ladies of the Lake is an all-women’s team offering an opportunity to practice and compete with women of all ages. Coach is Sandra DeMarre.

Dragin’ Tails (Co-ed)
Dragin’ Tails is a coed team over 18. This is a wonderful opportunity to compete against other coed teams in the area and can be a great couple’s activity. Coach is Maureen Roberts.

We’re always welcoming paddlers to check us out and join our team. Veterans of the sport as well as rookie paddlers are encouraged to contact us and come down to a practice.
